Grey Whale Spotted Off Israel

May 12, 2010

When GREY WHALES – you know, from the PACIFIC OCEAN – crossed the Atlantic : Tetrapod Zoology.

A Pacific Grey Whale has been spotted off the coast of Israel. There once was an Atlantic Grey whale known by a different name but it is long since extinct due to over hunting by humans. This is a remarkable find as there is no way for a Grey Whale to get to Israel save a possible northwest passage after the ice has melted away.

I wonder if this is a single animal or a few and will it be able to survive in its new environment. I wonder will more animals repopulate areas they are extinct from such as this or is this a one time deal. Time will tell.
