Google in China

May 26, 2010

Is Google closed in China? CNBC reporter Erin Burnett was doing a report about construction and infrastructure this morning and she was asking when you are on assignment how do you check facts that people give you. In most of the world you use Google.com so what would a reporter do to check her facts in China. Erin Burnett then shows us video of her Blackberry and what do you see on the screen the Google search page. She said she was able to get Google all over the country on her Blackberry as well as several  desktops.

Interesting when all you read here is that Google is dead in China then you see this. What does this do to the growth prospects of Google in China or Baidu.com which is the Chinese answer to Google.

It would be interesting to see the number of searches coming through Google from China. It could be small now but as the country has a wider spread of computers and smart phones the growth could be huge which is what every western company is looking for in China.
