Minimum Wage For Californian State Workers

July 2, 2010

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has directed the state controller John Chiang in this pay letter to pay California state employees the Federal Minimum Wage of seven dollars and twenty-five cents per hour. According to this  LA Times article John Chiang says the governors plan is just a political ploy and will not save any money since all moneys will have to be paid back once a budget is passed. Chiang says absent a court ruling he will continue to protect the states finances and pay full wages earned by state employees.
